Dr. Lance Setterfield is an educator, skin treatment specialist, and international speaker. As an early adopter of Dermal Needling in Canada (2005), he is one of the foremost experts, and author of “Concise Guide to Dermal Needling”. With 42 years of medical experience to draw from, his special interest is cell-to-cell communication, particularly researching the effects of dermal needling on the epidermis (cosmetic) and dermis (medical). Collaboration with clinics and companies around the world has enabled him to be on the forefront of this technology.
As the interest in needling has expanded rapidly in recent times, Dr Setterfield now finds himself supporting clinics and companies in many parts of the world as an independent Dermal Needling consultant. He has lectured on wound healing in England, Scotland, Germany, Spain, Russia, Holland, New Zealand, Australia, United Arab Emirates, Monaco, France, South Africa, USA, India, Portugal, and Canada. He is presently working on cracking the rosacea code, as well as researching the role of epidermal injury as an alternative to dermal injury in rejuvenation. With this paradigm shift towards the epidermis, and away from prolonging inflammation to induce collagen production, he has embraced Corneotherapy in his own clinical practice.
